January 27, 2018 1:30 AM – There are many theories about what happened that night – directed energy force, alien space craft, Sasquatch, but generally it’s believed to have been a straight line micro burst. More than 110 trees were knocked out across the North Shore Road all facing toward the water, many more up on the hills. The force that caused the devastation was amazing. We were without power for 20 hours. The Grays Harbor PUD and the Park Service worked on each end to clear the road and eventually restored power. To walk through the area now including July Creek Picnic area is to only appreciate the magnitude of what occurred.
